Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 eggs
  • 200g sugar
  • 180ml buttermilk
  • 200g canola/vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp red food colouring
  • 225g flour
  • 15g cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 60ml hot water
  • Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 200ml dairy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2tbsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Cake batter:
  2. Mix sugar and butter until white and silky.
  3. Add in eggs.
  4. Slowly add in flour, cocoa powder and baking soda. (Make sure to sieve to ensure no clumps)
  5. Combine buttermilk, canola/vegetable oil, food colouring and hot water and slowly add into the cake mixture.
  6. bake for 25 minutes in 180 degrees
  7. Frosting:
  8. Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, vanilla essence and sugar.
  9. Whip whip cream.
  10. Combine both mixture until smooth.
