
Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 eggs
- 200g sugar
- 180ml buttermilk
- 200g canola/vegetable oil
- 2 tsp red food colouring
- 225g flour
- 15g cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 60ml hot water
- Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 250g cream cheese
- 200ml dairy whipping cream
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2tbsp vanilla essence
Instructions
- Cake batter:
- Mix sugar and butter until white and silky.
- Add in eggs.
- Slowly add in flour, cocoa powder and baking soda. (Make sure to sieve to ensure no clumps)
- Combine buttermilk, canola/vegetable oil, food colouring and hot water and slowly add into the cake mixture.
- bake for 25 minutes in 180 degrees
- Frosting:
- Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, vanilla essence and sugar.
- Whip whip cream.
- Combine both mixture until smooth.
